African Oral Narratives
Life Stories of Women Traders and Former Traders From Kumasi Central Market

My primary research assistant was Mrs. Mary Appiah, whose contacts and good judgment were invaluable in carrying out the interviews.

Diligent and insightful Twi transcriptions and English translations were prepared by hand by Mr. A.K. Yeboah, of Osei Tutu Secondary School, who also provided me with Twi lessons.

Mr. E.K. Asiedu and Mrs. Appiah also hand prepared many of the Twi transcriptions and English translations.

As always, the friendship and cooperation of the many Kumasi Central Market traders, both the narrators and others, has sustained this work for many years.
