These fifty interviews in Twi with present and former market women were recorded by Gracia Clark between August 1994 and July 1995 in Kumasi, Ghana.  In addition to narrating their personal experiences, they discuss general changes in trading practices, family dynamics and economic conditions in Kumasi Central Market and in other towns where they had lived and worked.  The collection includes Twi transcripts and English translations of 50 interviews with audio  files of 44 of them, made from the original cassette tapes.
