MATRIX: The Center for Humane Arts, Letters and Social Sciences Online is a research, teaching, and publication center at MSU devoted to the application of new communications and technologies to facilitate the production and exchange of scholarly information around the globe. Its central mission is to:

  • Pioneer scholarly use of the Internet;
  • Be an international leader in the development of educational technology;
  • Be a premier research center in the humanities and social sciences.

In keeping with this mission, MATRIX is committed to allowing for the freest possible exchange of scholarly and educational information, while also protecting the property and rights of its partner institutions.

Whenever possible, MATRIX provides factual information about copyright owners and related matters in its exhibits, educational resources and publications (electronic and hardcopy). This includes clear identification of material owned by its partner institutions.
