Biography: Osman Braimah Barri received his Quranic education at home under the leadership of his father. He also attended secular schools in Ghana. For his advanced education, he studied abroad in Egypt at the American University of Cairo. He later became a translator for the Organization for African Unity. In retirement, he writes also on the history of the Muslim community in Ghana.
Description: Osman Barri makes the argument that Muslim children are capable for secular education. Using his personal story, he also argues that an educated Ghanaian Muslim is capable of remaining loyal to the country and the communities within.
