About

The court documents featured in this gallery were digitized through a project funded by the British Library's Endangered Archives Programme (EAP). EAP231: Social history of the Gambia: rescuing an endangered archive, police and court records scanned and described civil, police, and criminal records dating from the 1820s held in the Court Record collections of the Department of State for Justice in Banjul, The Gambia. Materials from this British Library project can be accessed on the Endangered Archives site here. EAP231 was carried out in 2010-11 by Walter Hawthorne and Bala Saho in cooperation with the National Records Services of The Gambia and Scott Pennington, former Head of Digitization, MATRIX.
